Comment #1 on 'Windows 10, MSKLC, and .NET Framework' by BobHallissy on 2016-08-23 13:18:48

Windows 10 comes with Net 2.0 and 3.5, but it isn't enabled by default. Go to "Turn Windows Features on and off" applet and enable it. This may trigger a download, depending on your configuration. Alternatively, if you want a completely offline method and have your Windows 10 install media, you can try the procedure documented at  http://winaero.com/blog/offline-install-of-net-framework-3-5-in-windows-10-using-dism/

In any case, I've not yet had issues with MSKLC on my Windows 10 system (which is an upgrade from Windows 7).

Comment #1 on 'Where do I find font specifications?' by BobHallissy on 2014-10-14 21:48:02

Apple's John Jenkins noted recently on  Fontlab Forum: "Apple has recently published an update to its Apple Advanced Typography spec. This includes documentation for some recently introduced tables such as 'ankr', 'kerx', 'meta', and 'sbix'."

Comment #2 on 'Keyman from Tavultesoft - Keyboard systems for Windows, mobile devices and web' by BobHallissy on 2014-10-06 11:03:17

Tavultesoft have released version 9.0 of  Keyman Desktop.

In a significant licensing change, there is now a free edition of Keyman Desktop.

Keyman Developer 9 is presently available for beta testing.

Comment #1 on 'zzz Integrate Graphite into Harfbuzz' by BobHallissy on 2014-04-24 16:48:25

This has been accomplished — Graphite is now integrated into Harfbuzz — so this need should be removed.

Comment #2 on 'Debugging multi-technology fonts' by BobHallissy on 2013-04-02 14:37:39

I think I had that in one of my implementations, but I figure "RenderingUnknown" is pretty unlikely in real text ;-)
